Loud Muffler/Exhaust Enforcement
Recently, the Duluth Police Department has received an increase in loud muffler/exhaust complaints from residents in the city. With the increase in after-market exhaust options for motorized vehicles along with vehicles in need of repair, the increased noise level has become a quality of life issue for residents in the city.
Beginning on August 9th, 2013 and continuing through September 9th, 2013 Duluth Police officers will conduct a special enforcement detail all hours of the day but more specifically during “night time” hours where the windows of residences are open and residents are typically sleeping.
The goal of the enforcement detail is to significantly reduce the amount of vehicles with loud mufflers/exhaust through enforcement and education thereby increasing the quality of life for residents in the city.
