NATURE OF INCIDENT: Missing Person - UPDATE

INCIDENT LOCATION: Wesley Residence, 5601 Grand Avenue

On Saturday, July 20th, 2013 at 4:10 PM Duluth Police took a missing person report from the Wesley Residence, an assisted living home at 5601 Grand Avenue. 

Staff reported that a vulnerable adult resident, Dale Elizabeth Gerard had left and was last seen at 3:15 PM boarding an eastbound DTA bus in the area of Elinor and Grand Avenue.  She is prescribed medications that she needs and has dementia.
Dale Gerard is described as follows:
  • 74 years old
  • White female
  • 5’5” tall
  • 155 pounds
  • Brown Eyes
  • Auburn/red hair
She was last seen wearing dark colored pants, a flowered blouse and a pink/rosie colored sweater over the blouse. Also, she has distinct red marks on her chin, nose and cheeks. She has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person.
If anyone has seen or knows the whereabouts of Dale Elizabeth Gerard they are asked to call 911.
UPDATE:
The Duluth Police Department is asking anyone who lives or owns a business in Duluth to check their out buildings, campers, boats or anywhere on their properties where someone could stay. 
Dale Elizabeth Gerard was last seen Saturday, July 20th after boarding a DTA bus at Elinor & Grand Avenue, Gerard got off at Piedmont Avenue & 7th Street and then walked southbound on Piedmont Avenue into the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The Duluth Police Department and local law enforcement continue to assist family in looking for Gerard. The Saint Louis County Rescue Squad, Duluth Police Department and volunteers will be conducting searches on Thursday, August 15th.   These search locations were determined based on checking areas where Gerard raised her family. 
Anyone with information has seen or knows the whereabouts of Dale Elizabeth Gerard is asked to call 911.

Prior to the searches the Saint Louis County Rescue Squad will have a briefing with the Duluth Police Department and search volunteers at 5pm at the Enger Tower parking lot. CaptainTom Crossmon (SLC Rescue Squad) and Duluth Police Lieutenant Leigh Wright will be available at that time for comment to the media.
