NATURE OF INCIDENT: Three Arrested for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery

INCIDENT DATE: 10/27/2013
INCIDENT TIME: 1:11 AM
INCIDENT LOCATION: 600 block of North 9th Avenue East

On Sunday, October 27th, 2013 at 1:11AM Duluth Police were called to the 600 block of North 9th Avenue East on an armed robbery. Initial investigation revealed the 23 year old female victim was walking home when she was approached by 3 suspects, two of which had handguns. She said they both pointed the guns at her and took her purse and cell phone and ran eastbound on 6th Street.

She described the suspects as follows:
 
  • Suspect #1- Black male, 22-24 years old, approximately 5’7, skinny, wearing dark baggy clothing, had a handgun.

  • Suspect #2- Black male, 22-24 years old, approximately 5’7, skinny, wearing dark colored clothing, had a handgun.
  •  
  • Suspect #3- Black male, wearing dark colored clothing.

The Duluth Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects. If anyone has information has seen or knows the whereabouts of the suspects they are asked to call 911.
 
UPDATE:
On Wednesday, November 6th, 2013 Duluth Police arrested, Jonas Jerid-Treston Starkey, a 19 year old male resident of Duluth and a 16 year old juvenile male resident of Duluth for the robbery. 
Starkey was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery, Felony Financial Transaction Fraud and Motor Vehicle Theft. 
Jonas Starkey has the following convictions in Minnesota:
  • 2010 – 5th Degree Assault
  • 2012 – Obstructing Legal Process
The 16 year old juvenile was transported to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery, Felony Financial Transaction Fraud and Motor Vehicle Theft.
On Thursday, November 7th, the third suspect Morgann Danielle Robinson, a 22 year old female resident of Duluth was arrested and transported to the Saint Louis County Jail for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery, Felony Financial Transaction Fraud and Motor Vehicle Theft.
Morgan Robinson has the following convictions in Minnesota:
  • 2013 – Simple Robbery
 
These arrests are the result of extensive follow-up investigation since the robbery occurred.
