The Duluth Police Department have recently been notified of a scam involving parties calling people in the Duluth area and claiming to be with the State Bank of Belle Plaine. Parties attempt to obtain or verify personal or financial information from the victims over the phone. 

The Duluth Police Department would like to remind citizens to NOT provide ANY personal or financial information by phone, or send money electronically to anyone that you don’t know. Most financial institutions will not call you and request this type of information from you. 
If you feel you are the victim of a scam, contact local law enforcement and in some cases you may file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at Consumer.FTC.gov .
