 Public meeting about Highway 23 paving project scheduled for Dec. 18 in Duluth

 
DULUTH, Minn. – The public is invited to a meeting, held by the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Duluth, to learn more about a paving project scheduled to begin in spring 2015 on Hwy 23 (Grand Avenue) from Interstate 35 to Beck’s Road.
 
The public meeting will be held at the Center City West Community Center, Evergreen Senior Center Room, 5830 Grand Avenue at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013.
 
The two-year-long project will include new driving surfaces, storm sewer and sidewalk improvements, enhanced pedestrian crossings and additional bus stops. 
 
The city of Duluth identified intersection modifications in their Corridor Investment Management Strategy (CIMS) application. Some intersections onto Grand Avenue will be consolidated, relocated or closed to increase safety.
 
Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Duluth will be available to answer questions, provide information on the construction schedule, the CIMS elements and other details about the project.
