Police arrest burglar with help from citizen caller.

This morning at 5:34 AM, Duluth Police responded to the Forsaken Tattoo Studio, 1131 East 4th Street, on the report that two people were just seen entering the business through the broken front door. The caller, who lives nearby, saw the two suspects enter the business, dressed in black and carrying backpacks. A short time later, the suspects were seen carrying a large red chest out of the business. The caller continued to give updates on the suspects and their location until police arrived in the area.

Officers found one of the suspects hiding between nearby homes. The large red chest taken from the business was also found nearby. Officers were unable to locate the second suspect.

The suspect, a sixteen year old Duluth male, was transported to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center where he was lodged pending formal charges for Third Degree Burglary, Third Degree Criminal Damage to Property, and Possession of Burglary Tools. He is also a suspect in a motor vehicle tampering incident that occurred on November 23, 2009. He is awaiting a court appearance in that incident. No further information is available on the burglary at this time.
