NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Man Charged with Selling Methamphetamine

INCIDENT LOCATION: 200 block of North 27th Avenue West

On Friday, January 3rd, 2014 at 5:28 PM members of the Duluth Police Department, Superior Police Department and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of North 27th Avenue West in Duluth.  

During the search of the residence investigators located 62 grams methamphetamine, a digital scale, approximately $5,000 in cash, and baggies used to package drugs for sale. The renter identified as James Derek Myers, a 31 year old male subsequently admitted to selling methamphetamine out of his residence.  At the time of this arrest Myers was already on probation in Saint Louis County for a previous conviction for selling methamphetamine as well as felony domestic assault. 
James Myers has the following prior felony convictions:
  • 5th Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • 3rd Degree Sale of Methamphetamine
  • Domestic Assault
Myers was arrested and brought to the Saint Louis County Jail and has been formally charged with 1st degree Sale of Methamphetamine.
