INCIDENT LOCATION: 900 block of East 9th Street

On Monday, January 27th, 2014 at 1:19 AM Duluth Police responded to a residence in the 900 block of East 9th Street where the resident was shot.

The 35 year old male victim was at home and claimed that 3 male suspects wearing ski masks forced their way into the residence and when he confronted them 2 ran away, a scuffle ensued with the 3rd suspect who then shot the victim in the front shoulder and left. The victim said that the incident may have been a “drug rip” and officers did find evidence of drugs in the house. The victim was transported to a local hospital for a non-life threatening injury, and he remains there in stable condition. 
The victim refused to give consent to search the house. At around 10:30 AM a search warrant was executed and investigators located and seized 56 pounds of marijuana and $12,000 cash. The marijuana has a street value of over $200,000.
