Duluth Mayor Don Ness and Chief Administrative Officer David Montgomery will hold a news conference today, Thursday, January 30, at 11:00 AM in the Mayor’s Reception Room to discuss the City’s latest OPEB (Other Post-Employment Benefits) actuarial report. This bi-annual report on the status of the City’s future retiree health care obligation is the first since the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that the City’s labor contracts call for retired city employees’ health care benefits be provided to the same extent as active employees.
