63rd Ave W and Bristol Street Bridge Flood Repairs Slated to Begin April30th

As part of the recovery from the June 2012 flood, the City of Duluth will be reconstructing both the 63rd Ave West and Bristol Street Bridges at Keene Creek. The City has prepared plans and specifications for these bridge projects, and the DNR permits
are in place.

Keene Creek is a designated trout stream, and the DNR has permit restrictions on work being done in a trout stream to protect trout migration and spawning. The DNR is allowing construction to start April 30th, 2014. The actual start date will depend on spring runoff and will take an estimated 3 months of construction to complete each street.

We thank residents in advance for their patience, and will make every effort to have construction completed as soon as possible in 2014. If you have questions or comments for either project contact Patrick Loomis, PE, Project Engineer, City of Duluth, at ploomis@duluthmn.gov or by phone at (218) 730-5094.
