INCIDENT LOCATION: 1800 block East Second Street
On Wednesday, February 25th, 2014 investigators from the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the Duluth Police Department executed a search warrant at an apartment located in the 1800 block of East Second Street.
During the execution of the search warrant approximately 65 grams of heroin, $6,135.00 in cash, and related evidence of drug sales was seized.
Three males, all residents of Chicago, Illinois were arrested during the search and were identified as:
1. JERRELL BENJAMIN RODGERS, 21 years old
2. IKE GOLD HARDY, 28 years old
3. AKEEM MAURICE ASAD, 22 years old
On Friday, February, 28th all three men were formally charged by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office with 1st Degree Sale of a Controlled substance and Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance Crime in the First Degree. Asad and Rodgers are currently in custody.
IKE GOLD HARDY was released on bail stemming from a separate charge prior to being charged with the current offense. Hardy is currently wanted for an outstanding felony warrant related to this incident.
