NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Male & Female Arrested for Burglary
CASE NO.: 14058189
INCIDENT DATE: 3/21/2014
INCIDENT TIME: 1:22 PM
INCIDENT LOCATION: 4100 block West 8th Street
On Friday, March 21st, 2014 at 1:22 PM Duluth Police were called to a residence in the 4100 block of W. 8th Street on the report of suspicious activity. A male with his hoodie up got out of a green Jeep and ran up to a house and pounded on the door of a neighbor who the caller knew was not at home, the person then got back in the Jeep and left southbound on 40th Avenue West. Officers responded and checked the house and the area, no one was located.
At 1:46 PM officers were called back as the suspect had returned and had now forced the door open. The same Jeep had an occupant and was parked nearby. As the first officer arrived he walked towards the Jeep and it took off heading northbound on 40th Avenue West. Another squad went up 40th Avenue West and determined the Jeep couldn’t have made it to Morris Thomas Road so they checked on Berkley Road on the west side of Haines Road and a passerby said the Jeep was in the ditch nearby. An officer followed footprints from the Jeep, chasing the suspect in the waist deep snow for over 4 blocks before taking him into custody. The suspect was identified as Tony Lee Tharaldson, a 55 year old male resident of Duluth.
