Court rules on City retiree case
District Court Judge Sandvik ruled today that unless the retirees post a $750,000 bond, the City of Duluth can move forward with transitioning retirees to the current health insurance plan that covers active employees.
The City recently conducted meetings with retirees about their move to Plan 3 and will continue to communicate with retirees about the transition. Retirees will continue to have access to quality healthcare at reasonable rates. There will be no break in coverage during the transition. The City Human Resources office will be mailing out new benefit cards in January but retirees can contact Blue Cross Blue Shield or ClearScript Customer Service Center phone numbers located on the current ID cards with questions regarding their health or pharmacy benefits plan.
Retirees needing additional information can contact Cbiz, the City’s benefits consultant, at 1-877-635-9314 or by email to benefitquestions@cbiz.com
