Duluth Police arrest Suspect in Virginia homicide
 
An arrest warrant was issued for Robert Jacob Russell III on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 for second degree murder. Later at 9:41 PM, Duluth Police located and arrested Robert Jacob Russell III, age 38. Russell is a suspect in last weekends stabbing in Virginia that took the life of a 33 year old Virginia man. 
 
At 9:37 PM, a male matching Russell’s description was spotted being dropped off in the area of Lake Avenue and Superior Street by a Duluth officer. When officers went to identify the male they found he had jumped over a concrete wall to the parking lot below. Other officers located the male on Michigan Street below Lake Avenue.   The male was identified as Russell and taken into custody without incident.
 
Russell was taken to the St. Louis County Jail where he is being held for Murder in the Second Degree.
 
Assisting in the apprehension of Russell were the Duluth Police Department, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, The St. Louis County Sheriffs Department, and Eveleth Police Department.
