SUBJECT: Kwanzaa Celebration at Washington Center December 30th

Kwanzaa Celebration to be held at Washington Center Wednesday, December 30th  6:00-8:00 PM

 

The public is invited to participate in the annual Kwanzaa Celebration at the Washington Center gym on Wednesday, December 30th from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.  The Washington Center is located at 310 North 1st Ave West.

The Kwanzaa celebration is a time for reaffirming African American people of their ancestors and culture.  This celebration also will provide an opportunity for people to focus on the importance of family, community, and history and to reflect on the Nguzo Saba or seven principles of African culture.  These principles emphasize unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith.

This event is free and open to anyone wanting to celebrate Kwanzaa.
