INCIDENT TIME: 7:00 p.m.
INCIDENT LOCATION: 3712 Grand Ave.

 The Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at or near 3712 Grand Avenue. The call was received at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. The first fire rig to arrive was number two Engine from the Lincoln park area. When they arrived, they found Heavy smoke and flame, A second alarm was struck, which sent an extra fire engine and ladder truck to the scene. Fire crews extinguished fire at the garages and areas around the vicinity, but kept fire from moving into the homes, with the strong East wind this was a challenge. Multiple power lines were down in the area, due to the fire, so Minnesota power was called. Gold cross ambulance also was called to standby. There were no reported injuries. Eight fire rigs responded with a total of 27 Firefighters.

Initial damages are estimated at $50,000 to structures and contents.

The Duluth Fire Marshals office is conducting an investigation of the fire's cause and origin.
