Road Repair Planned for Lake Ave (north of 3rd St.)

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department has contracted with Hovland Construction to conduct road repairs starting Monday, June 23, 2014 along Lake Ave, between 3rd and 4th Street and between 5th and 6th Street. This work requires closure of Lake Ave for the designated areas to reconstruct the road surface and install new curb and gutter. These blocks along Lake Ave were dug up due to prior utility repairs resulting from a water main break last year. Temporary patching was put in place until a permanent fix could be implemented. 

Work is scheduled to last through the first week in July, pending weather. City crews will attempt to minimize disruption to impacted residents. Motorists may experience delays and are requested to follow the signed detour route.
