Traffic Detour/Street Closure for Far West Fest June 27 - June 29, 2014
The Far West Fest Community Celebration will start on Friday June 27th, 2014 and continue through Sunday June 29th. The only traffic disruptions on Friday June 27th will be the closure of Dixon Street from Commonwealth to 99th Avenue West for event setup.
On Saturday June 28th, 2014 Commonwealth Avenue will be closed to traffic from approximately 8:00 am until 02:00 am Sunday morning when it reopens. Commonwealth Avenue will close again Sunday June 29th at 09:00 am and will reopen at 4:00 pm.
During the event traffic will be detoured to 99th and 101st Avenues West. 99th Avenue West will be signed as ONE WAY NORTHBOUND, and 101st Avenue West will be signed as ONE WAY SOUTHBOUND.
Southbound traffic on Commonwealth will be directed west on Reis street, south on 101st Avenue West to Gary street, then east on Gary street back to Commonwealth Avenue.
Northbound traffic on Commonwealth will be directed east on Gary street , north on 99th Avenue West to Reis street, then west on Reis Street back to Commonwealth Avenue.
DTA buses will follow the detoured routes.
Areas of Gary Street, Reis Street, 99th Avenue West, and 101st Avenue West will be posted No Parking to accommodate vehicle, bus, and truck traffic during street closure times.
Drivers are asked to use caution in the area during this event, and to watch for detours, barricades, no parking signs and officers directing traffic.
