SUBJECT: Police arrest 32 year old Duluth Woman in Vehicle versus Pedestrian Hit and Run Crash

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Motor Vehicle versus Pedestrian Hit and Run Traffic Crash

INCIDENT LOCATION: Fifth Avenue East and Second Street

Police arrest 32 year old Duluth woman in Vehicle versus Pedestrian Hit and Run Traffic Crash.
 
On Tuesday, December 29th, 2009, at 1:55 PM, the Duluth Police investigated a vehicle versus pedestrian, Hit and Run Traffic Crash that occurred at the intersection of Fifth Avenue East and Second Street.  A 66 year old Duluth female was crossing Second Street when she was struck by the black extended cab pickup that was making a left turn onto Second Street from Fifth Avenue East.   The female driver stopped the pickup and the male passenger got out. The female driver then left eastbound on Second Street without giving any of the legally required information.  A description of the female driver and the pickup was given to officers.
 
The 67 year old female victim was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where she remains in fair condition with non life threatening injuries.
 
Tuesday night at 7:21 PM, Duluth Police located the suspect vehicle involved in the crash in the 600 Block of West Second Street. The 2002 Black Dodge Extended Cab Pickup was towed by police.
 
Today at 4:30 PM, Duluth Police Crash Investigators executed a search warrant at the residence of Natalie Nicole Fulkrod, age 32, in the 600 Block of West Second Street.  Investigators located Fulkrod hiding in the residence. Fulkrod agreed to speak with investigators and admitted her involvement in the crash.  Investigators also located evidence that linked Fulkrod to the crash.
 
Natalie Nicole Fulkrod was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail where she is being held pending formal charges for felony Criminal Vehicular Operation resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm (for leaving the scene of a crash she caused), Gross Misdemeanor Hit-and-run (substantial bodily harm to a person), driving after revocation, and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. 
 
The investigation into the crash is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
