Glow Run 5K Event
Saturday July 12th, 2014 9pm-10pm staggered starts
On Saturday July 12th, the Glow Run 5K Event will be held in the Bayfront Park area. The 5K run will use staggered race starts beginning at 9pm until about 10pm. Runners will exit Bayfront Park and turn right onto Harbor Drive, continue behind the DECC to turn around BELOW the DECC lot (Lot stays open), take the same route back and turn down the Connector to Railroad Street where they turn left and proceed to a turn-around point near the Zeigler Company and follow Railroad Street back to the gravel DEDA lot which they will take back into Bayfront Park to finish.
Traffic closures will begin at 8:30pm, at which time all southbound 5th Avenue West traffic will be diverted down the Connector to Railroad Street, and Harbor Drive will close from the Connector around to just below the DECC Lot exit on Harbor Drive. 5th Avenue West and Harbor Drive will re-open at approximately 10:30pm.
Railroad Street will be closed to west bound traffic at the DECC North Gate, and East bound traffic will be blocked at Garfield Avenue. Business traffic to Bend Tech and Ziegler will be allowed if needed.
Access to the DECC Lot will be from the North Gate on Railroad street and the East Gate on Harbor Drive (Near Irvin). Lot Exit will be from the Ramp and Harbor Drive only. The 5th Ave W Exit will be closed.
The Aquarium lot will be closed from 8:30pm until approximately 10:30pm, however cars may be allowed to exit between staggered starts when time and safety allow.
Drivers in the area of the event need to be alert for street closures and officers directing traffic.
