Street Preservation Project to Start in West Duluth Neighborhood on Monday, August 4

[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth Public Works & Utilities Department is working with Northland Constructors to implement the City’s 2014 Street Preservation Project along Superior Street and 1st Street (between 40th Ave West and 46th Ave West) and along 40th Ave West (from I35 to Grand Ave). The project will start on Monday, August 4, 2014.  The project will entail reconditioning the streets and include Mill and Overlay (on 40th Ave. W.) and Reclamation and Resurfacing (Superior St/1st St.).

Signage will be posted indicating “No Thru Traffic” at all adjacent streets in the area, but entry to and from the businesses within the vicinity of the project and emergency services will be maintained. Motorists should be advised that the road project will cause delays and using alternate routes is highly recommended. The estimated completion date is September 12, 2014.

The City thanks the public for their patience as we work to improve streets for safe transit by all users.
