Traffic Advisory - Color Splash UV 5K Race
Saturday September 13th, 9:30pm Start
On Saturday September 13, the Color Splash UV 5K Event will be held in Bayfront Park. The 5K run will start at 9:30pm.   Runners will exit Bayfront Park and turn right onto Harbor Drive, continue behind the DECC to turn around just before the DECC Lot exit, take the same route back and turn down the Connector to Railroad Street where they turn left and proceed to a turnaround point near the Zeigler Company. They then follow Railroad Street back to the gravel DEDA lot which they will take back into Bayfront Park to finish.
Traffic closures will begin at 9pm, at which time all southbound 5th Avenue West traffic will be diverted down the Connector to Railroad Street, and Harbor Drive will close from the Railroad Street Connector down around behind the DECC to just BELOW the DECC East Gate exit. The DECC East Gate will remain open during this event.
Railroad Street will be closed to west bound traffic at the DECC North Gate and at the Bottom of the Railroad Street Connector. East bound traffic will be blocked at Garfield Avenue. Business traffic to Bend Tech and Ziegler will be allowed on Railroad Street, but no traffic will be allowed further east than the race turnaround point near the Ziegler company.
Access to the DECC will be from the North Gate on Railroad street AND the East Gate (Irvin side).
The Aquarium lot will be locked down at 9:20pm, and will re-open about 10pm.
Drivers in the area of the event need to be alert for street closures and officers directing traffic.
If you have any questions call Officer Bill Stovern at 218-730-5678.
