 Alzheimer's Walk
On Saturday, October 4th, 2014 the Alzheimer Walk will be held in the Downtown area, resulting in traffic interruptions on Harbor Drive and Railroad Street.   The event starts at 10:00 am and lasts for approximately 1 hour.
Railroad Street from 5th Ave West to Georgia Pacific will be closed to traffic from 09:30am to approximately 11:30. Barricades and "Road Closed Ahead" signs will be set at Garfield Avenue to warn motorists of No Thru Traffic. Garfield Avenue vehicles may enter onto Railroad Street to get to some local businesses, but will not be allowed any further east than the race turnaround point near Georgia Pacific and will be sent back to Garfield Avenue.  
Harbor Drive will be closed to traffic from just below the DECC entrance near the Irvin, to the Aquarium from 09:00am to approximately 11:30.
The DECC Lot entrance and exits on Harbor Drive and Railroad Street will remain open, but exit on 5th Ave W will be closed.
The Aquarium Lot will be closed BRIEFLY, from 09:50am until about 10:15am.
Vehicles parked in the DEDA and Playfront lots on Railroad street will NOT be able to exit once the race has started, but will be allowed to go East on Railroad street after all walkers have passed the lots and are headed West, which will be about 10:20am.
Motorists driving in the area of this event should be aware of brief street closures and watch for Officers directing traffic.
