Media Advisory: Mayor Ness to Hold News Conference Monday at 2:00 PM

[Duluth, MN] Mayor Don Ness will hold a news conference tomorrow, Monday, October 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM to discuss his decision to not seek a third term.
 
In written remarks this morning the Mayor said: "I’ve decided not run to for re-election in 2015. I feel good and at peace with the decision. I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for my friends, co-workers, family, and this community for the opportunity to be mayor of the city I love."
 
“The progress we’ve made as a city continues because it’s based on the strengths of our city and efforts of thousands – the mayor is just one of many,” Mayor Ness added. "I’ve got big plans for the rest of my term; I want to take full advantage of each and every day I have left. This decision has only increased my sense of urgency to accomplish as much as I possibly can in these remaining months. Again, thank you. I can’t say it enough."
 
Mayor Ness will not be available for further comment until the news conference at 2 PM tomorrow. At that time, he will be happy to address any questions. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
