[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is informing the public that starting this Sunday, November 2, 2014 Braun Testing will be doing soil borings on Superior Street between 6^th Avenue West and 4^th Avenue East. The work will occur between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am nightly for one week and will not require complete closure of Superior Street. The work is being done as part of the preliminary engineering surveying process for the future reconstruction of Superior Street. Crews will tackle 2-3 blocks at a time starting from 6th ave West which may limit some on-street parking over night in the impacted work areas.   

 

Drivers should use caution when approaching the work areas.  There will be approximately 50 soil borings completed in this 10 block stretch of Superior Street. There may be a very brief closure of Superior Street between 4^th Avenue West and 5^th Avenue West of Superior Street when this project starts on Sunday due to the narrowed lane widths as a result of the the maurices Headquarters construction project. If so, workers will be on site to direct traffic for this very short closure.
