Mayor Ness to Discuss St. Louis County’s Sales Tax Proposal
 
[Duluth, MN]  Mayor Don Ness will hold a news conference today, December 1, at 1:30 PM, in the Mayor’s Reception Room to discuss the .05 percent sales tax increase being proposed by St. Louis County.
 
Mayor Ness and other community leaders are encouraging residents to participate in the public process and ensure there is adequate time given for community input to be heard. The Mayor is also seeking assurances that any transportation related work which is funded by the proposed revenue be done proportionately throughout the entire county. He will address these and other concerns at the news conference this afternoon.

The public is also encouraged to attend and participate in a public hearing about the proposed sales tax being held tonight, 5 PM, at the Hermantown Governmental Services Building, 5105 Maple Grove Road, Hermantown, as well as at the St. Louis County Board Meeting, tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2, at 9:30 AM on the Second Floor of the St. Louis County Courthouse, 100 N. 5th Avenue West, Duluth.
