City Announces New Manager of Duluth Workforce Development Center

[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth Business & Economic Development Office has announced the hiring of Paula Reed as the new Manager of the Duluth Workforce Development Center, replacing Don Hoag who retired this summer. Reed has been serving as Community Relations Officer, in the Mayor’s Office, since April 1, 2014. The Duluth Workforce Development Center provides a number of employment, job training, and career assistance programs for individuals who are out of work or who have suffered job loss for a variety of reasons.

“We are fortunate to have Paula Reed join our Workforce Development team. Her experience in management, organizational development and spearheading community initiatives will be a great asset. Our staff does a great job providing direct customer services, training, and resources for adults and youth entering or changing employment,” said Chris Eng, Director of Business and Economic Development. “Paula brings a skill set that will allow us to do even more proactive outreach and enhance our services to the community.”

Reed’s official start date in the Workforce Center will be December 15, 2014. To learn more about the Workforce Development Center services, visit the website at www.duluthmn.gov/workforce-development/
