NATURE OF INCIDENT: Traffic Accident Involving Injuries
CASE NO.: 15005661
INCIDENT DATE: 1/9/2015
INCIDENT TIME: 10:18 a.m.
INCIDENT LOCATION: 85th Avenue West and Grand Avenue

On January 9th, 2015 at 1018 a.m., Duluth police responded to the 8500 block of Grand Avenue for a vehicle crash with injuries involving 3 vehicles.  A 1997 Jeep Cherokee was traveling west on Grand Avenue when it lost control and crossed over into the eastbound lanes where it was struck by a 2013 Nissan Rogue.  Immediately after the first collision, a 3rd vehicle also traveling eastbound also struck the Jeep.  A 30 year old Duluth man was transported to Essentia Health with life-threating injuries and a 28 year old Duluth woman was also transported to Essentia with minor injuries.  The driver of the 3rd vehicle was uninjured.

All parties involved were wearing seatbelts.  Drug or alcohol impairment is not suspected on any driver.  The investigation into this crash is on-going.    If anyone witnessed this crash, please contact Sergeant Ryan Morris at (218) 730-5655.  No further information is available at this time.
