Upcoming Road Projects and Closures Happening in Duluth
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is informing the public about some upcoming road projects and closures that will disrupt normal motor vehicle access in several areas of Duluth. The project start dates and details are listed below:
April 1, 2015 - East 4th Street closure (for bridge repair over Tischer Creek between Hawthorne and Ridgewood Road) was scheduled to start April 1 but due to unforeseen circumstances with the materials; it is being postponed. The public will be notified once a start date has been determined.
April 3 - May 6 - As a reminder, 4th Ave West from the alley below West First Street down to Superior Street will be closed to motor vehicles due to the placement of a crane related to the maurices Headquarters construction. After May 6, the crane will be moved to 5th Ave West, thereby prohibiting northbound traffic on 5th Ave West until May 27.
April 6 - Last year, crews worked for most of the summer along Skyline Parkway to repair the bridge, retaining walls and stabilize the soil damaged from the 2012 flood near Chester Bowl Park. Additional work is required this year to reassemble the stone retaining wall, reconstruct sidewalks and repave Skyline Parkway. Skyline Parkway will be closed west of the entrance into Chester Bowl. Access to Chester Bowl will be from the east off Kent Road. Anticipated completion is mid-June.
April 7 - West Michigan Street (between 3rd Ave West and 2nd Ave West) will be closed from 6 AM to approximately Noon. A concrete pump truck will be on site for construction of the DTA Multimodal Transportation Center. The public will experience additional closures of this block several more times over the next 6 weeks.
The City thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.
