INCIDENT TIME: 5:05 a.m.
INCIDENT LOCATION: 400 Block of West Superior Street
On 04/15/2015 at 5:05 a.m., Duluth Police and Fire responded to a DTA bus crash in the 400 Block of West Superior Street involving a fatality. Duluth Police have identified the person who was fatally injured in this crash as Michael Joseph Mooney, 53, of Duluth. Mooney was a passenger in an eastbound Duluth Transit Authority bus driven by Rodney Frank Polson, 58, of Duluth. Police have also identified the driver of the westbound Duluth Transit Authority bus involved in this crash as Glenn Evan McGill, 59, of Duluth
Preliminary indications are the driver of the east bound bus (Polson) suffered from a medical emergency. A final determination as to what caused this crash will be made once all evidence, interviews, and medical information have been collected and reviewed.
This incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
