[Duluth, MN] - On Friday, May 8, 2015, the community is invited to join Mayor Don Ness in his last Mayor’s Bike Ride as he embarks on a two mile ride to promote active transportation. Riders will meet at Duluth City Hall at 11:45 am by the front steps, facing Priley Drive, for a Noon departure. The event will conclude with a luncheon at Valentini’s Vicino Lago on London Road. During the luncheon, Mayor Ness will reflect on the progress made in recent years and cast a vision for continuing to advance and support bicycling in our community. Attendees will also learn about the Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council’s revision of the Regional Bikeways Plan and get inspired by the stories of local bus, bike, and walk commuters.
 

Registration is not required for the bike ride, but is recommended for the lunch by visiting bit.ly/MayorsLuncheon Cost is $13 for a pasta meal. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.

 

The Fourth Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride and Luncheon are part of Bus Bike Walk Month – a month-long celebration that brings together bicyclists, businesses, art hounds, outdoor enthusiasts, active commuters, and families that share a mutual love for busing, biking, and walking.
