Maintenance of water system in Park Point to take place May 18-22
 
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities staff will be performing regular maintenance of the water system in the Park Point neighborhood during the week of May 18-22. This work will take place between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Staff will systematically flush the hydrants starting from the Aerial Lift Bridge and work south towards the Sky Harbor Airport. This regular maintenance is important to flush out sediment that builds up in the pipes over time.
Residents may experience a drop or loss of water pressure while staff are “flowing” the hydrants.
 
The City anticipates that this process will last a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes for each hydrant – until the sediment is discharged. Staff will then move south to the subsequent hydrants and repeat the process.
