Duluth Planning Recognizes Outstanding Projects for Zenith Awards
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Planning Commission presented the 2015 Zenith Award for Plan Implementation to City of Duluth Engineers and the Metropolitan Interstate Council (MIC) for increasing alternative transportation by installing bike lanes on London Road and College Street, two major commuter routes. A second award went to Carla Blumberg for her vision and development of the Chester Gardens, an exemplary demonstration of a mixed-use neighborhood redevelopment project, which addresses the housing and commercial needs highlighted in the Comprehensive Plan and Higher Education Small Area Plan.
The City of Duluth Zenith Awards recognizes programs or initiatives that advance the City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan which ensures Duluth’s future as a thriving, sustainable and walkable community by developing and implementing plans and land use regulations.
