INCIDENT DATE: 6/11/2015
INCIDENT TIME:
INCIDENT LOCATION:

The Duluth Police Department Volunteers in Policing Program was established to assist sworn police officers in performing community service tasks, non-criminal police services, natural disasters and other emergencies. A Volunteer in Policing is a resident who is interested in assisting the police department with a variety of activities and is interested in giving back to the community.  The volunteers will be patrolling the streets of Duluth starting this month in cars provided by the City of Duluth and will serve as community liaisons, assisting us with found property, reporting graffiti and neighborhood nuisances, and reporting suspicious activity incidents to name a few.  There are currently eight members and two cars that will be working, but those numbers will increase as the program develops.  Those who are interested in joining the Duluth Police Department Volunteers in Policing Program should contact their neighborhood community officer for details.
