NATURE OF INCIDENT: Traffic Detour/Street Closure for Far West Fest

The Far West Fest Community Celebration will start on Friday, June 26th, 2015 and continue through Sunday, June 28th.  Dixon Street from Commonwealth Avenue to 99th Avenue West will be the closed for event setup on Thursday, June 25th.

On Saturday, June 28th, Commonwealth Avenue will be closed to traffic at approximately 8:00 a.m. and will not re-open until 4:00p.m. on Sunday.  Barricades, detours, and one way streets will remain in place overnight Saturday into Sunday.

During the event, traffic will be directed to 99th and 101st Avenue West.   You will only be able to travel north on 99th Avenue West and south on 101st Avenue West.

Southbound traffic on Commonwealth will be directed  west on Reis Street, south on 101st Avenue West to Gary Street, then east on Gary Street back to Commonwealth Avenue. 

Northbound traffic on Commonwealth  will be directed east on Gary Street , north on 99th Avenue West to Reis Street, then west on Reis Street back to Commonwealth Avenue. DTA buses will follow the detoured routes.

Areas of Gary Street, Reis Street, 99th Avenue West, and 101st Avenue West will be posted no parking to accommodate emergency vehicles, buses, and trucks during these times.

Drivers are asked to slow down, use caution and follow detours in the area during this event due to pedestrians, officers directing traffic, and increased vehicle traffic in the area.
