NATURE OF INCIDENT: Color Dash 5K Race
CASE NO.:
INCIDENT DATE: 6/28/2015
INCIDENT TIME: 9:00 a.m. Start
INCIDENT LOCATION: Harbor Drive and Railroad Street Area

On Sunday, June 28th, 2015 a Color Dash 5K Race will be held at Bayfront Park.  The 5K run will start 9 a.m.  Runners will exit Bayfront Park and turn right onto Harbor Drive, continue behind the DECC and turn around just before the DECC east gate lot, return taking the same route back and turn down the connector to Railroad Street where they turn left proceeding  to a turnaround point just before the Zeigler Equipment Company.   Runners will follow Railroad Street back to the DEDA lot which they will take back into Bayfront Park to the finish line.

Traffic closures will begin at 8:30 a.m., at which time all southbound 5th Avenue West traffic will be diverted down the connector to Railroad Street, then right on Railroad Street to go to the DECC PARKING LOT ONLY.  The DECC Lot north gate REMAINS OPEN, but is only accessible via 5th Avenue West.  Due to construction on the Northwest Passage, Railroad Street will NOT continue east to the Canal Park area.

At this time Harbor Drive will also close, from the 5th Avenue West and Railroad Street Connector around to just below the DECC lot east gate.  The DECC lot east gate (near the William Irvin Tour Ship) also REMAINS OPEN, and is accessible via Lake Avenue.

Railroad Street will be closed to west bound traffic from Harbor Drive (near the William Irvin Tour Ship Side) to Garfield Avenue.  East bound traffic will be blocked at Garfield Avenue to 5th Avenue West.  Railroad Street will be open from 5th Avenue West to the DECC lot north gate, to allow that gate to remain open.

5th Avenue West and Harbor Drive will re-open to traffic by10:00 a.m.

Business traffic to Bend Tech and Ziegler Equipment Companies will be allowed from Garfield Avenue.

Access to the DECC will be from Lake Avenue to Railroad Street to the east gate (near the William Irvin Tour Ship), or from 5th Avenue West down the connector to Railroad Street to the north gate.

The Great Lakes Aquarium lot will be accessible before 8:30 a.m. and after 10:00 a.m.
