             Minnesota Slip Bridge Temporarily in Up Position Due to High Winds

[Duluth, MN] - The Minnesota Slip Bridge in Canal Park is being placed in the up position temporarily today, July 29, as a precautionary measure due to high wind gusts. High wind gusts can cause stress to the cable system that is used to lower and raise the Bridge and cause the two sides to raise inadvertently if left down. This precaution is necessary for safety reasons and helps preserve the mechanisms of the Bridge. Once the wind gusts reduce, the Slip Bridge operator
will resume normal operations.
