Spirit Valley Days Parade

Spirit Valley Parade in West Duluth will take place on Thursday, August 6th, 2015 starting at 6:00 p.m.  

Street Closure and Parking Restriction

Parade units will line up on 59th Avenue West between Raleigh Street and Grand Avenue beginning at 4:30 p.m.   Parade route closures will begin about 5:30 p.m. and the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Parade Route

The parade will travel east on Grand Avenue from 59th Avenue West to Central Avenue, turn south on Central Avenue past Ramsey Street to Bristol Street, and left on Bristol Street where the parade will end near Mike Colalillo Drive.

The parade units will use all of Grand Avenue from 59th Avenue West to Central Avenue, and all of Central Avenue and Bristol Streets.  Vehicle traffic will be detoured off Grand Avenue for the parade between 59th Avenue West and Central Avenue starting at about 5:30 p.m.  Eastbound traffic on Grand Avenue will be detoured North on 59th Avenue West toward Cody Street and Eighth Street.  Westbound traffic on Grand Avenue will be detoured north on Central Avenue toward Cody Street and Eighth Street.

DTA Buses will use Cody Street as a detour. Westbound buses will turn up Central Avenue and travel west on Cody Street to 59th Avenue West.   Eastbound buses will turn up 59th Avenue West to Cody Street and travel east to Central Avenue.  All avenues and exits onto Grand Avenue between 59th Avenue West and Central Avenue will be closed during the parade.  59th Avenue West will be blocked from Grand Avenue to Raleigh Street at 4:30 p.m. for the parade line-up area.

No parking will be allowed on either side of Grand Avenue along the parade route, on 59th Avenue West from Raleigh Street to Grand Avenue, on Central Avenue from Grand Avenue to Bristol Street, and on Bristol Street from Central Avenue to Mike Colalillo Drive "No Parking" signs will be posted along these routes. Vehicles in violation will be tagged and towed.

In Addition, the following streets will be barricaded and closed from Wednesday August 5th to Sunday August 9th for Spirit Valley Days:

Ramsey Street from 57th Avenue West to Central Avenue

 57th Avenue West from Grand Avenue to Bristol Street

These streets will also be posted "No Parking".

Please use caution in these area watching for pedestrians and officers directing traffic.  Motorists should expect delays and officers directing traffic.
