Hill Fest Festival Traffic Advisory

On Sunday, August 23^rd, 2015 the Hill Fest Festival will take place on 4th Street from 5th Avenue East to 7th Avenue East.  The Festival starts at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m., however street closure times may vary.

At noon, 4th Street will be closed to traffic from 5^th Avenue to 6^th Avenue East, and also from 6^th Avenue to 7^th Avenue East for event setup. During this time 6^th Avenue East will remain open to traffic.

At 1:00 p.m. 6^th Avenue East will also be closed from 3^rd Street to 5^th Street in addition to the earlier 4th Street closure. Down bound 6^th Avenue East traffic will be diverted at 5^th Street; east toward 7^th Avenue East and west toward 5^th Avenue East.  North bound 6^th Avenue East traffic will be east on 2^nd Street toward 7^th Avenue East, or west on 3^rd Street toward 5^th Avenue East.  Access to the Whole Foods Coop will be from 7^th Avenue East.  Access to Super America will be from 7^th Avenue East through the alley below 4^th Street, and over to 6^th Avenue East.

Duluth Transit Authority:

North bound DTA buses will travel east on 2^nd  Street to 7^th  Avenue East, turn left up 7^th  Avenue to 5^th  Street and turn left  to 6^th  Avenue East where it will continue north bound.  South bound DTA buses will come down 6^th Avenue East and turn left on 5^th Street, and then right on 7^th Avenue East to 3^rd Street where they will turn right and continue west bound on 3^rd Street.

The Festival ends at 7:00 p.m. at which time 6^th Avenue East will reopen.  However, 4^th Street remains closed until 8:00 p.m. for festival tear down.

Motorists in the area of the festival should slow down and drive with care, watch for signs, barricades, pedestrians, and Duluth Police Officers directing traffic.
