NATURE OF INCIDENT: Traffic Advisory Color Splash UV 5K Race

On Saturday, September 12th, the Color Splash UV 5K Event will be held in Bayfront Park.  The 5K run will start at 9:00 p.m.   Runners will exit Bayfront Park from the roadway behind the stage and enter onto Harbor Drive behind the DECC.  Runners will continue on Harbor Drive to a turnaround point just below the DECC East gate entrance and return on Harbor Drive down the connector to Railroad Street.  Runners will take Railroad Street westbound to another turnaround point just before the railroad tracks east of the Ziegler Lot and return on Railroad Street to the DEDA Lot and back inside Bayfront Park.

 

Traffic closures will begin at 8:30 p.m., at which time Harbor Drive closes behind the DECC. 

 

Railroad Street will be closed to west bound traffic at the DECC North Gate and at the bottom of the Railroad Street connector.  East bound traffic will be blocked at Garfield Avenue.  Business traffic to Bend Tech and Ziegler will be allowed on Railroad Street.   No traffic will be allowed further east than the race turnaround point near the Ziegler Company.  

 

At about 8:50 p.m. all southbound 5th Avenue West traffic will be diverted down the connector to Railroad Street.

 

All DECC entrances will remain open during this event.

 

The aquarium lot will be closed briefly at 8:50 p.m., and will re-open about 9:15 p.m.  Officers will be posted to assist vehicles in and out of that lot during this time, if possible.

 

Please be alert for street closures and officers directing traffic.
