Temporary Gas Service Disruption Reported Near Woodland/UMD Area -
City Staff Going Door to Door to Check Gas Meters
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is reporting that a minor disruption in natural gas service occurred in the area north and east of the University of Minnesota Duluth campus earlier today that affected approximately 440 buildings. The disruption has been corrected but it also requires City crews to now go door to door to make sure all homes and businesses that were connected to the main gas line have their valves turned off. Once shut off, crews will then be able to go door to door to relight individual gas pilot lights in homes and businesses. Staff should be out to relight pilot lights between 4 and 5 PM today. Residents are asked to make themselves available to allow City staff (with identification) into their homes.
