City provides statement on contract agreement

 

The City of Duluth and AFSCME have reached a tentative contract agreement.  The City's Chief Administrative Officer, David Montgomery, offered the following statement:

 
"We are very pleased we were able to reach a settlement with AFSCME.  With this agreement we can move forward together to provide the level of quality services that the citizens of Duluth expect.  We appreciate the work of the AFSCME and City negotiating teams in reaching this tentative agreement for 2010. 
 
"We also thank employees who continued to provide quality professional services without disruption during the past few weeks of negotiations. 
 
 
Both parties have agreed to not release details of the tentative agreement until the membership has seen the proposal.
