All Nations Indigenous Center to Host Ceremony on October 12th in Observance of Indigenous Peoples Day
[DULUTH, MN] - All Nations Indigenous Center will host a ceremony and march beginning in the civic center in Duluth at Fifth Avenue West and First Street on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in observation of Indigenous Peoples Day.
Mayor Don Ness will proclaim Monday as Indigenous Peoples Day in honor and celebration of all peoples indigenous to this nation. The mayoral proclamation will take place during the ceremony in the civic center.
Following the 11:00 a.m. ceremony, gatherers will be welcome to join in a march in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day from the civic center to One Roof Community Housing, 12 East Fourth Street, where food and refreshments will be provided at 1:00 p.m. Activities at One Roof Community Housing will include open mic, a community input session, and more.
The ceremony and march are hosted by All Nations Indigenous Center and sponsored by Anishinabe O'de and the Duluth Indigenous Commission. Events are free and open to the public.
