Lighting Ceremony for Historic Arts and Theatre District

Location: outdoors on the sidewalk, near 124 East Superior St.

[Duluth, MN] - Mayor Emily Larson and community members will hold a press conference on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 4:30 PM to officially light the Historic Arts and Theatre District sign that was recently installed on the East Superior Street Public Ramp(also to be renamed the HART Ramp) as part of the initial steps towards the rebranding of this historic downtown destination between Lake Ave and East 9th Ave East. The press conference will be held outdoors on the sidewalk just west of Shel/Don Print and Design, which is located at 124 East Superior Street.

The district was renamed the Historic Arts and Theatre (HART) District last year by the Duluth City Council due to the significant cultural and economic contribution of the arts, history and entertainment to downtown Duluth as well as the broader city. Mayor Emily Larson, Kristi Stokes with the Greater Downtown Council, and other community leaders will make remarks.
