In December of 2015 Investigators from the Duluth Police Department, Superior Police Department, Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms began an investigation of Devon Maurice Bowser 06/18/84 aka “Nut” aka “Chicago Nut”. 

On January 8, 2016 Bowser was taken into custody in Superior, Wisconsin.  Bowser was formally charged with four separate counts of Sale/Delivery of Heroin in Douglas County District Court.  The same day, a search warrant was executed at Bowser’s residence in the 900 block of North 7th Avenue East in Duluth.  During the execution of the search warrant investigators located heroin, $8,855.00 in cash, along with other evidence of heroin sales.  Additionally investigators located 3 firearms in Bowser’s bedroom along with ammunition.

Bowser was formally charged today 01/21/16 in Saint Louis County District Court with 3 counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and 1st degree sale of heroin.  Bowser remains in custody at the Saint Louis County Jail in Duluth. He is being held there on $125,000.00 bail.  The case is being prosecuted by Assistant Saint Louis County Attorney Kristen Swanson.
