Public meeting on March 15 to discuss improvements at Kenwood Ave and Arrowhead intersection

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth invites public to attend an informational meeting for the upcoming Arrowhead/Kenwood and Cleveland Street Traffic Signal and Roadway Improvements Project, which is scheduled for construction starting in the summer of 2016. This joint City/County/Developer project includes a replacement traffic signal at the intersection of Arrowhead Road/Kenwood Avenue/Howard Gnesen Road and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Kenwood Avenue/Cleveland Street. The work at Arrowhead/Kenwood/Howard Gnesen will include pedestrian, traffic signal, and turn lane improvements, along with modifications to the U.S./Wells Fargo Bank driveways; the work at Kenwood/Cleveland will include a new traffic signal along with roadway reconstruction of Cleveland Street on both the east and west sides of Kenwood Avenue.

The goals of the improvements are to provide efficient and safe operations for both vehicles and pedestrians by reducing congestion and improving traffic flow, along with improving access to surrounding businesses.

The meeting will be held at the Kenwood Lutheran Church (2720 Myers Avenue) on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. A short presentation will be given, followed by an open house to address individual questions. Discussion topics will include the traffic signal improvements, driveway modifications, Cleveland Street improvements and an update on the Kenwood Village Development.

Anyone with questions, who cannot attend the meeting, or would like to subscribe to regular project updates, can send an email to Taryn Erickson, Project Engineer at tjerickson@duluthmn.gov by March 25, 2016.
