ComfortSystems Offering New Boiler and Furnace Rebate Program for Customers
[Duluth, MN] - ComfortSystems is offering customers a new energy efficiency Furnace and Boiler Rebate Program as part of its effort to encourage customers to be a partner with the City of Duluth’s move towards energy conservation. Yesterday, the Mayor announced a commitment of $500,000 into the City’s Energy Plan which will yield environmental and fiscal benefits for the future. ComfortSystem’s new rebate program provides the same benefits to customers with the exception of savings going directly back into the pockets of customers.
An added benefit of the program is that residents will also be helping the City and its partners edge forward as a semi-finalist in the two-year Georgetown University Energy Prize Competition, a national competition worth $5 million. Even the simplest changes helps us be better energy leaders.
Spring and summer are the perfect time to upgrade furnaces or boilers and prepare for the upcoming heating season. Energy efficiency rebates are available from ComfortSystems for new equipment installed from March 28, 2016 through the end of the year. When a customer buys a new high efficiency boiler or furnace, and installs it in ComfortSystems’ service territory, they can get a grant of $50 or $200, depending on the efficiency of the unit. To qualify for a rebate, the unit installed must be on ComfortSystems’ rebate equipment list.
Table 1
Type Efficiency Rebate $/Unit
Boiler 83.5% and greater AFUE $50
Boiler 90% and greater AFUE $200
Furnace 90% and greater AFUE $200
Dealers, contractors, or installers can get the rebate for their customers by completing a 2016 ComfortSystems’ Natural Gas Boiler or Furnace Rebate application for their customer and e-mailing it to ComfortSystems at dolson@duluthmn.gov.
Once the unit is installed and has passed final code inspection ComfortSystems will send the rebate check to the customer.
Customers can ask their dealer or contractor to submit the 2016 ComfortSystems’ Natural Gas Boiler or Furnace Rebate application to ComfortSystems for a rebate. If the dealer or contractor isn’t aware of this energy conservation rebate program please have them e-mail Eric Schlacks at eschlacks@duluthmn.gov call (218) 730-4060 or visit the website at http://www.comfortsystemsduluth.com/conservation/rebates/ to learn more. Boilers or furnaces with a natural gas input of 300,000 Btu/h or less and an efficiency meeting or exceeding those listed in Table 1 above can receive a rebate.
