INCIDENT LOCATION: 2nd Avenue East and 2nd Street Duluth

On Friday, April 1st, 2016 at 10:39 a.m. Duluth Police arrested 43 year old Joel Wayne Thunder after police responded to the area of 2nd Avenue East and 2nd Street on a report of an attempted robbery.  The victim gave a description and a direction the suspect fled.  The victim also reported that the suspect opened the passenger door entering her vehicle, made threats and demanded money.  A Duluth Police Officer located 43 year old Joel Wayne Thunder who was attempting to hide in a parking lot in the 200 block of East Michigan Street.  Thunder was taken to jail and has been formally charged in St. Louis District Court on 2nd Degree Aggravated Robbery. 

Joel Wayne Thunder has a lengthy criminal history to include of 2nd Degree Arson, obstructing legal process, disorderly conduct, and theft.
