INCIDENT LOCATION: 100 block of East 1st Street Duluth

On Friday April 8th, 2016, at 9:07 a.m., Duluth Police arrested 59 year old Jeffrey Scott Martens after responding to a burglary in progress in the area of the 100 block of East 1st Street.  The building manager who reported the burglary had entered the building, heard noises, and discovered an unknown male inside.  Officers arrived at the scene and located Martens in the front entrance.  Martens was in possession of stolen items from inside the store.  Martens was taken to jail and formally charged in St. Louis County District Court with 3rd Degree Burglary. 

 

Martens has a lengthy criminal history to include possession of a controlled substance, several counts of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, damaging property, and several driving violation charges.
