INCIDENT LOCATION: 2800 block West Superior Street Duluth
On Thursday, April 21st, 2016 at 3:05 p.m. Duluth Police and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force arrested 22 year old Quinn Charles Laase after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of the 2800 block of West Superior Street. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located and seized 39.9 grams of heroin, $2,605 dollars in U.S. Currency, and other evidence of drug sales. Laase was taken to jail and formally charged in St. Louis District Court for 1st Possession of 25 Grams or more of Heroin and 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The Duluth Police Department in coordination with the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force would like to warn the public on a growing concern with fentanyl laced heroin becoming more prevalent in the region. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is several times more potent than heroin and can increase the possibility of overdoses and deaths.
